I think I ask Barry this question every time I see him: “Do you ever sleep?” Well, I’m glad he doesn’t. It’s not enough that he’s already got drool-worthy fabrics for Vervain, furniture for Tomlinson Erwin Lambeth, plus accent furnishings and accessories for Arteriors—and a killer paint collection with C2 (see them all here) —now he’s partnered with a master artisan in Charleston, Peyton Avrett.
The J. Lambeth showroom at the Washington Design Center has represented both men for years, and I’m so glad to see them come together. They were both at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center on Wednesday to debut the new line, which is full of natural inspiration, from a magnolia pod to the sleek turn of a mosquito’s leg.
“This collaboration celebrates a new era in Avrett design,” Peyton says in a release. “As artisans who employ old world techniques with modern-day concepts, we’ve found a kindred spirit in Barry Dixon, whose aesthetic blends antiques with modern settings and schemes.”
Every pendant, chandelier, table and upholstered piece is available in custom sizes and finishes, of course, through J. Lambeth. That showroom is only open to the trade, but if you’re not working with a designer, they can probably point you in the right direction if you’re desperate for one of these beauties in your own house!
